The guidance officer works with students in conjunction with their parents or caregivers, teachers, specialist support personnel and other community agencies to identify barriers to learning and development, and to assist in planning interventions or programs that can help students achieve positive outcomes. This might involve one or more of the following actions: cognitive/emotional /behavioural assessments, collaboration, consultation and counselling. Our school’s guidance officer is Jan Livingstone.
